Domestic Assistant

Hours: 30 hours per week, 10.00am-5.00pm (worked 5 days from 7 as required by Rossie and as detailed on the published rota, including weekend working).
Salary: £26,674 - £27,796 (pro rata) (SCP 18 - 20)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the maintenance of cleanliness to agreed standards within the Houses and participation in general domestic duties within Rossie. To work as part of a team and undertake cleaning in areas as directed to ensure that Houses, rooms and communal areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.
To carry out such cleaning and related duties within the Houses as determined by the Chef Manager and relevant Deputy Service Manager:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness as per cleaning schedule
- Ensure all kitchen areas are maintained at the highest level of hygiene
- In collaboration with the Chef Manager, ensure the house toilets are consistently maintained at the highest levels of hygiene
Responsibility for other domestic duties within the Houses:
- Collect the House laundry and deliver it to the central laundry daily
- Assist in the serving of meals to the young people including laying tables and cleaning away afterwards
- Ensure there are adequate supplies of clean laundry available within the House
- Assist with the laundering of young people’s clothing within the House
General domestic duties within Rossie:
- Assist with the provision of domestic duties in other Houses and other parts of Rossie as required
- Provide support in the main kitchen
- Work effectively as part of the Domestic team as well as on your own
Other duties as directed:
- Advise and assist young people to gain domestic skills as required
- Participate in appropriate training
