If you are at the start of your career, I would definitely recommend applying to Rossie if another apprenticeship came up, it’s an ideal place to learn. Before I started, I didn’t cook at all, and now I’m nearly a qualified chef. I would also recommend Rossie to an experienced chef looking for a new challenge. Overall it’s a great place to start your career, finish your career, and anything in-between!
Every day is different at Rossie. One day I could be planning or delivering training to staff, the next I could be giving a tour of the facility to the newest student who is on placement. Part of my job is staff mentoring and training; I organise and facilitate any required and optional training within Rossie. I love my job because I know what I do makes a difference; staff are more skilled and knowledgeable, which has a knock-on effect in the young people.
Rossie has been exceptional in helping me to develop in my career. Firstly putting me through my Teaching Qualification while I worked, offering me fantastic CPD opportunities, the distributed leadership opportunities and ability to be the head of your own department is something not many teachers have the opportunity to do. As well as this I am now gaining experience in the role as Principal Teacher, this experience is invaluable and something I am thoroughly enjoying!
The dedication and commitment of everyone here makes Rossie a rewarding place to work. If I had any advice for someone thinking about applying to Rossie, I would say to go for it! If you’re hard-working and are looking for an interesting, varied and exciting job, Rossie is the place for you.
If someone is thinking about applying for a job at Rossie, I would encourage them to go for it! I have developed both personally and professionally during my time here. It’s a place for someone who has a desire to grow as Rossie itself a growing organisation.
